How To Use?

STEP BY STEP:
1: PREP
Put on a shirt that you don’t mind ruining and wear a pair of gloves and clothing cover. Apply vaseline on the skin near hairline and ears.

2: SECTION
Section hair into 4 quadrants using alligator clips.

3: MIX
Mix bleaching cream and developer in 1: 1 ratio in a plastic bowl

4: BLEACH
Start with one of the bottom quadrants and take a horizontal small section of hair (about 0.5 cm height).

Apply a generous amount of bleach to the darkest parts of the hair / mids to ends of your hair. Avoid the hair 1cm closest to your scalp (your roots).

Repeat with next small section of hair within the same quadrant and move on to the next quadrant once done (do the bottom 2 sections before moving to the top 2 sections of hair).

After fully saturating the mids to ends, repeat the same sequence, this time applying bleach on the 1cm that was left out earlier (avoid the scalp).

5. PROCESSING TIME
Wait 30-50 minutes or until the overall hair colour is even / reaches your desired level of lightness. Remember to scrape the bleach off the hair to check the lightness and evenness of the hair.

6: RINSE
Rinse gently with shampoo and warm water. Skip the conditioner if you’re dyeing your hair with Qwerky next. If not, condition your hair after shampoo. Dry your hair fully and viola, you’re done!

2. Chemically treated through perming, rebonding or relaxing in the last 6 months

3. Already been bleached or damaged. Consider healing your hair before bleaching

FAQ

How many times should I bleach?

Qwerky's dyes are designed to look best on level 8 hair which usually can be achieved with one to two rounds of bleaching depending on your hair history. For pastel/ash hair colours, we recommend bleaching twice to ensure a light enough base for the colour to pop.

Do I need to bleach my hair again to change my hair colour?

No you do not need to bleach your hair again after dyeing your hair with Qwerky's dyes. Our dyes will fade off gradually as you wash your hair and you will end up with your original bleached base colour.

How much bleach do I need?

It depends on your hair length and thickness, but generally 1 set of bleach and developer (250ml each) is sufficient to cover shoulder blade length hair. Do check out our hair length chart for more information 😊

Will the bleach damage my hair?

It is normal for your hair to feel more dry after bleaching, which is why proper aftercare is required. However, we formulated Butter Bleach to contain nourishing oils and keratin to minimise damage during the bleaching experience.

Can I keep leftover bleach?
Yes you can keep the leftover bleaching cream and developer that has not been mixed together. Do store it in a cool and dry location away from sunlight and close the lids tightly.

Is Qwerky Colour cruelty free?
Yes, all of Qwerky Colour’s products are cruelty free.

What hair types is Butter Bleach suitable for?

Butter Bleach is suitable for all hair types. We encourage you to do a strand test before applying the bleach on your whole head to ensure that there are no adverse reactions and no unpredictable colour changes to your hair during bleaching. If any discomfort occurs, please stop using the product and contact a medical professional if any serious complications occur. Amazing bleach product

this is going to be my go to bleach

the bleach I've been using for the past year+ is a powder bleach, and a lot of the powder tends to flake off and fall all over my skin and floor and it's itchy
so I liked that with this cream formula there was less powdery stuff falling everywhere

smell:
I've only tried 2 other bleaches but this one is my fav in terms of scent
it's a floral smell and doesn't get as vomit chlorine as the other bleaches I've tried

consistency:
did a 1 to 1 ratio of bleach and developer
it's more runny than what I'm used to
which is better for even results bcos the bleach seeps through and covers the hair better
but because it's runny it also bled to my black side (split dye) a lot more 😢 so I guess I gotta be more careful with application next time

scalp sanity:
the last 2 times I bleached my hair my scalp burned so bad my skin was horrendously itchy and I couldn't leave the bleach on for as long as I wanted to because I couldn't deal with the pain 💀
but also I washed my hair the day before (without shampoo) and so that probably didn't help
this time I didn't wash my hair for a day and I think it helped
my scalp tingled for like 15mins at the start but I got used to it and it wasn't like painful even after 2 hours+ so i could leave it on for long enough
and I would've left it on for longer but I was scared my hair would melt off 💀
scalp is still a bit sore
overall much much better experience with scalp pain

developer:
I WISH THEY SOLD 20 AND 30VOL DEVELOPER
the developer it comes with is 25vol which is cool and all and works well
but I think I could have better control over my lift if I had more options so I can bump the developer as I apply for the front part of my hair (which i apply bleach to last) to lift faster and catch up with the back

overall:
worth it for the price
would buy again
(also topping up 10 dollars for upsized is actually so worth it, I love the brush so much the bristles are nice, the alligator clips are so useful
probably going to be the main bleach I use for my root touchups
please come up with more developer options 🙏🙏🙏

Quality matters!

I discovered QWERKY this year and their products have always been incredible for me to have hella vibrant hair colours!

When they released their Butter Bleach and I got an opportunity to try it out, the question that came up for me was would it be worth it compared to cheap single use bleach alternatives?

The answer was 100% yes it is worth it!!!! Here’s why:

- Resealable packs so that you don’t waste any unused product!
- Quality!! For me, in literally one bleach session my hair went from black to a level 9??
- Product is filled with good stuff like oils that protect your hair, and even removed a lot of the strong bleach smell!
- Accessories that come with the butter bleach pack are high quality and helpful to protect your skin from bleach damage

After my bleach, i was able to do a pattern of Iris and Barbie, which looked super clean and vibrant due to the base that the butter bleach had created!

I’ve been recommending QWERKY to people non stop every time someone asks me about my hair, which is every day!

Really worth the price if you’re looking for a perfect base to dye your hair!!

buttery soft with butter bleach!

rly cute packaging that also minimizes wastage as you squeeze out what you need then cap it back for the next time.
easy to mix and squeeze out vs those that you need to shake in a bottle for one time use and most of the time it’s not enough for my thick hair…
best bleach product i’ve tried!
firstly, the smell isn’t as strong (maybe bc it’s vegan 🤭)
secondly, it actually lifts!!! my brown hair lifted to a level 8 in one use, around 20-30 minutes just to be safe since i was going for a lighter shade of purple & blue!

overall… IT WORKS & DOESN’T DAMAGE/10! 💯🥳
it does a fantastic job without leaving your hair feeling like barbie doll that having a bad day 🤪
really pleasant and seamless process using this, not needing to worry if one packet is enough as well!

as a frequent at home hair dyer I love that a local brand has released a bleach product that’s affordable.. a bonus is that it managed to lift my black box dye pretty evenly and that it isn’t damaging at all
