No Bleach Baddie — Black Hair

No bleach? We hear you. These shades still work on dark hair — just know the vibe is tint, not neon. You’ll get deep red or green tones that show up best in sunlight. Low-key, cool, and very low maintenance. Want it louder? Bleach first with Butter Bleach.

Red or Green Tint?

RED Go with RIOT or BARBIE!

Both show up as a dark red tint under sunlight. They look similar on black hair but on dark brown hair Barbie is appears more pink than Riot. Lasts 1 month on black hair.

GREEN → pick GAIA!

Shows up as a dark green under sunlight. Lasts 1 month on black hair.

How many tubs should I get?
  • Above shoulders: 1 x 200ml Tubs
  • Shoulders to mid back: 2 × 200ml Tubs
  • Waist: 3 x 200ml Tubs

Pro tip: Get an extra tub if your hair is thick. Any excess dyes can be kept for future use anyway.

  • First-timers: Try the 100ml size to test the colour before committing to a bigger tub
What colour will my hair fade to?

Since our dyes don’t contain any lightening agents, your hair will gradually fade back to its original base colour. Over time, the red or green tones will soften and fade completely, usually within about a month.

I want the colour to be more vibrant, what should I do?

If you’re aiming for brighter colour, your hair needs to be lightened to a brown base first. You can do this at home withButter Bleach, or get it lightened at a salon before dyeing. The lighter your base, the more the colour shows. Unsure if your hair is light enough? DM us — we got you.

Will my hair be very dry after dyeing?

Not at all! Think of our dyes as a hair mask that also happens to give you colour. They hydrate your hair as you dye it, so it feels super smooth after. No harsh stuff here — no ammonia, alcohol, or peroxide, plus it's plant-based!

How often can I touch up the colour?

As often as you want, honestly. Since our dyes are non-damaging, touching up is totally fine.
Just one thing — if you’re changing colours drastically (like red to green), let the old colour fade first so things don’t get weird.
Same colour touch-ups though? Go nuts.

How do I make the colour last longer?

Use Suck It Up Colour Locking Hair Mask and finish with What The Frizz Hair Oil. Try to avoid anti-dandruff or clarifying shampoos, and skip the hot water — heat makes colour fade quicker.
