Application

Mix bleaching cream and developer in 1: 1 ratio in a plastic bowl and apply to the mids and ends of the darkest parts of the hair, avoiding the hair 1cm closest to your scalp (your roots). After fully saturating the mids to ends, repeat the same sequence, this time applying bleach on the 1cm that was left out earlier (avoid the scalp). Wait 30-50 minutes or until the overall hair colour is even / reaches your desired level of lightness. Remember to scrape the bleach off the hair to check the lightness and evenness of the hair.

Rinse gently with shampoo and warm water. Skip the conditioner if you’re dyeing your hair with Qwerky's non-damaging semi-permanent dyes next. If not, condition your hair after shampoo.

To Note:
This product is only meant for use on healthy, strong hair. You should carry out a skin sensitivity test 48 hours before using this product to check you are not allergic to it.

Do not use bleach on hair that was:
1. Dyed with henna or permanent dyes (box dyed) in the last 6 months. Or dyed with semi-permanent dyes and has yet to fade. The dye pigments may change colour in an unexpected way
2. Chemically treated through perming, rebonding or relaxing in the last 6 months
3. Already been bleached or damaged. Consider healing your hair before bleaching

01. Butter Bleach

Mix bleaching cream with developer in a 1:1 ratio and apply on dry hair. Wash off in 30-60 minutes depending on your desired level of lightness.

FAQ

Will Butter Bleach damage my hair?

Gentler, not magic. All bleach dries hair out, that's just chemistry but Butter Bleach is made with coconut oil, shea butter, argan oil, sweet almond oil and plant-based keratin to soften the blow. To keep damage low:

  • Skip washing your hair for 24 hours beforehand, as your scalp's natural oils help protect it.
  • Keep the bleach off your scalp and skin.
  • Follow up with Qwerky's Semi-Permanent Conditioning Colours and Treatment line
  • Always strand test first.
How light will it go? Is one round enough?

Butter Bleach lifts 4 to 7 levels. Where you land depends on your starting colour and hair history, which is why the strand test matters. If you're starting very dark and want an icy blonde, you may need a second session. Give your hair time to recover in between.
How much do I need?

One set (250ml bleach cream and 250ml developer) covers around shoulder-blade length hair. Longer or thicker hair? Check the hair length chart on the product page. The Upsized Bleach Pack also comes with the tools you need to bleach at home.
How do I make my hair colour last longer?

Pair our semi-permanent dyes with Suck it Up Hair Mask and What the Frizz Hair Serum Oil to prolong your hair colour. Refrain from using hot water and anti-dandruff shampoo when showering as that makes the colour fade faster too.
