It shows up as a natural ginger shade on darker hair, and there's no need to worry about pre-existing yellow tones in your hair if you're planning to dye your hair with this shade. Hey Tiger works best on pre-lightened level 8 hair (refer to listing images).

Nope! Our semi-permanent dyes have no peroxide, no ammonia, no alcohols. They don't contain any lightening agents that lifting your natural colour, so there's no chemical process breaking anything down. It actually leaves the hair feeling softer after use. But we still recommend pairing it with Suck it Up Mask to keep that hydration locked in between colours.

Our dyes pop most on bleached hair, but some shades will still show on dark, unbleached hair under sunlight. Barbie and Riot give a red tint, and Gaia shows up as a dark green on black hair. On dark brown hair, Hey Tiger goes warm brown, Iris goes purple red, and Ocean goes green (all more visible in sunlight). Want something more obvious, or a shade not listed here? You'll need to bleach first, and Butter Bleach is a gentle at home option.

It also leaves a tint of colour on natural grey hair. We recommend shade Blackforest for the highest coverage!

Yes, our semi-permanent dyes don't contain any lightening agents so once your colour fades it will return back to its previous base colour. Do note that some slight staining may occur if your hair is bleached but you can dye over it once the colour has faded enough.

Pair our semi-permanent dyes with Suck it Up Hair Mask and What the Frizz Hair Serum Oil to prolong your hair colour. Refrain from using hot water and anti-dandruff shampoo when showering as that makes the colour fade faster too.

Yes the colour may bleed on wet hair so be sure to use a dark coloured towel and dry your hair after showering. The colour bleed stops after ~ 2 weeks.

Hey tiger review

I’ve always been a huge fan of Qwerky’s semi-permanent dyes and have been a returning customer for quite some time.

About 80% of my hair is still virgin black hair, while the remaining 20% (the ends) is bleached blonde. I recently had my whole head dyed burgundy red at a salon, but as anyone with red hair knows, it fades pretty quickly. To maintain the colour, I always use Qwerky’s semi-permanent dye in Riot, and it has never disappointed.

The only issue was that because my ends were bleached, they had picked up a purple stain from the burgundy dye. I happened to walk past the Qwerky booth at AFA Fest intending to stock up on another bottle of Riot. One of the lovely staff members asked about my hair and recommended mixing Hey Tiger with Riot to help neutralise the purple on my ends.

I gave her advice a try, and it worked incredibly well! My ends now blend much more naturally with the rest of my hair instead of looking noticeably purple.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to the team at the AFA Fest booth. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to recommend a solution that genuinely worked instead of simply selling me another bottle of dye. I love the colour! It’s really gentle on my hair while at the same time makes it smooth with vivid colours. I also love the smell. I really recommend it!
